I would consider a split stay at 2 different places. While they’re close, I-4 is between them and can be a huge pain in the butt.
For Disney, Disney’s Fort Wilderness is very nice. Very expensive but you’re in the Disney bubble and they take care of all transportation. You can literally park your truck and not worry about it.
Otherwise, consider Tropical Palms. It’s as close to Disney as you can get. Nice and cheaper but now you have to pay for parking at the parks you go visit. That’s a good $30/day.
Other choices are Lake Magic, Thousand Trails Orlando, or the KOA. I don’t recommend Sherwood Forest; I find it dumpy and have heard of theft issues there. A Thousand Trails membership can be used at these with Trails Collection which can greatly help the cost.
More thoughts on Disney parks:
For Universal, there is an Orlando City park less than 2 miles away called Bill Frederick. It’s a very small park (under 40 sites and only 1/2 have sewer) and absolutely stunning. Not the most level but we’ve been fine any time we have gone.
